From an early age, I have been interested in observing and visually capturing my surroundings.
As a filmmaker, I explore different identities and forms of behavior; my interest in people is strongly reflected in my work. In doing so, I try to “read” people without making too many assumptions. I focus on everyday activities that usually go unnoticed.
With my documentary approach, I search for the hidden stories in the world around us. Through short poetic films that evoke a strong sensory experience, I bring these stories to life. I examine how familiar elements, such as daily routines and mental obsessions, relate to human behavior. I capture this in various ways, driven by my fascination with the fragmentary nature of film and the power of careful editing.
I seek the boundary between classical cinematic conventions and my own way of looking at the world, in which I find meaning in the different layers that lie beneath the obvious image. My interest in layering is therefore reflected in the relative abstraction of my work.
